Dear Premanand (1st January 2008)
I trust this finds you well and
active in your projects.
These clippings will interest you.
What is annoying that top VIPs have launched this fraud and thousands
are falling on their faces before him.
This is to wish you a good new
year.
Sincerely
Margaret B.

Day two
of the Yog Vigyan Shibir saw more people, avid followers
of Baba Ramdev Maharaj pouring in to seek solace and relief from this
saint of healing and happiness, occupying all vacant spaces that were
visible on day one. Ramdev
Maharaj went about with various items of his Abhyas which comprised
of “Yog-ging” and “jogging” as Swamiji wittingly liked to put
it, followed by Surya namaskar
and Danda Baithak for keeping the body in shape. The faster version
of Surya namskar had the audience dumb founded. Many did not
even try to attempt it and Swamiji very understandingly
smiled at them and said Kitna asaan
hai and repeated the aasan first in slow motion and then in a flurry
of movements of arms and legs. He mentioned them as Akrutiya jo karti
hai door vikrutiya. Swamiji strongly advocated performing
of Manduk Aasan and Vajrasan which is extremely useful
to people suffering from Diabetes, and digestive disorders. He spoke
about aasans for the umbilicus, stomach, kandhasan followed by
Shavasan where you should keep aside your worries and negative thoughts.
He then demonstrated the difficult yet very interesting
Gaumukhaasan useful to those suffering from prostrate problems,
gas and frozen shoulder. He demonstrated all seven methods of Pranayam.
He says, Agar system acha ho to symptoms khatam ho jate hai.
Deep breathing up to diaphragm, thoracic breathing were demonstrated
in a masterly manner. He demonstrated Kapalbhati in its true perspective. This was followed by Vayu Pranayam, Agni sar
Nauli kriya. He profusely thanked the organisers and particularly
Katole, Rajendra Purohit, Chowdhary for coming forward to organise such
shibirs which will awaken the spirit in each individual. He praised
the organisers for giving an opportunity to all to have pavitra snan
in Yog Ganga.
An enlightening bhajan, Man ke gahre andhiyare mein OM ka
naam diye jaisa, was sung in true Anup Jalota style by singer Hare
krishna Hare. The audience was spell bound in a meditative mood with
Ramdevji Maharaj chanting Jaise Prabhu se sharir paya, vaise lauta
sako uski maya, Khoya hua bachhpan yowan pa sakoge, prabhu ki sabse
badi saugaat usko vapas kar sakoge. He vowed to take the sankalp
of Yog to all parts of the country and antim vyakti tak
in 2008. |

Countless
thousands of Sadhaks and followers of Baba Ramdev Maharaj thronged
the sprawling Kasturchand Park at the wee hours of the day to learn
the universally acknowledged art of healing and healthy living known
as Yog at the feet of the master and spiritual Guru on the first
day of the Yoga Vigyan Shibir being held at Nagpur for the second
time but at Kasturchand Park for the first time.
The 6-day
Shibir, which commenced on Wednesday will conclude on January 7.
If readers
recall seeing the magnificent photograph of the yoga field otherwise
known as Kasturchand Park, readied for the event, it was a mind-boggling
sight that could not be described. A sea of humanity descending at the
KP Grounds. They sat in rapt attention to listen to the Yog Guru.
That Ramdev Maharaj has been able to instill a deep sense of faith in
the minds of people, who had virtually given up hopes of survival, was
aptly proved by the salutation he received from the huge gathering,
a majority of whom were from places outside Nagpur and Maharashtra.
Ramdev
Maharaj, with his typical soothing touch built in his oratory had the
audience completely under his divine influence right from the word go.
Commencing his Yog Vigyan presentation with the rendition of
Gayatri Mantra, Swamiji went on to explain the importance of Yoga
in today’s life. And laid tremendous emphasis on Vyayam, Aasana
and Pranayam. And in his usual witty style of reaching the common
man, he said that “Vyayam gives strength to the physical body
while Pranayam strengthens the software in your body.”

out Bhasrika Pranayam, specially deep breathing technique.
Swamiji

be done in a completely relaxed state of mind. It is useful to those
who are infertile, have weak reproductive organs, and it is extremely
useful to women as it helps remove uterus fibroids, regularising periods,
dissolving ovary cysts, generally helps in improving excreta system,
gas, acidity, piles, fissure, colitis followed by Hathon ka Sukha
Vyayam effective for frozen shoulder and skeletal system. He elaborated
on Anulom vilom which is important for the Kundalini

Yog Ganga from Haridwar to Nagpur. He was happy to be in Kasturchand
Park which he felt presented a very pleasant sight with trees around.

those in the audience to stand up and speak about their experiences.

Rs. 18,000 on treatment till he decided to do Pranayam and today
he is cured. Vijay Katwe, also from Nagpur, had undergone a bypass
surgery. In spite of this he developed problems in one of the grafts.
Surgery was ruled out and he was left with no option than to take to
Pranayam. Today, he finds himself fitter in health than before.
Heena
Prakash, a small girl, was suffering from blood cancer. She was told
to undergo chemotherapy but without any surety of survival. Her father
brought her to Haridwar in 2005 and here she took treatment from Swamiji.
Today, she is cured and has had no relapse. Heena was called on to the
stage by Swamiji and blessed by him.
