RAIPUR: The string
of divine miracles continues. This time it is the turn of Lord Hanuman
to display his clairvoyance in Chhattisgarh. Superstition showed its
head in almost all parts of the state on Sunday with people believing
that the Hanuman idols in temples were blinking
its eyes.
As the
news spread on Saturday night, peopIe thronged Hanuman temples all over
the state. The historic Rajiv Lochan Temple at Rajim, Panduka, Nawapara
and Arang in Raipur district, Bhoramdev temple at Kabir Dham district
and Rajapara - based Hanuman temple at Kanker witnessed large queues
of devotees.
It is
believed that the message first spread from Kanker. An “eye witness”,
Manish Thakur, claims to have spread the message after having seen the
colour of Lord Hanu-man’s eyes changing at Rajapara temple in Kanker
on Saturday.
The Rajapara
Hanuman temple which was constructed by the royal family of the erstwhile
Kanker State is 150 years old. When the news spread, people from far
- flung areas thronged to see the “miracle” .
After
a successful ‘darshan’ at Rajiv Lochan temple, a youth Somesh Sahu
said he could not see any change in the Lord’s eyes but he believed
that the deity would have showed some miracle. “The crowd is not here
unnecessarily. Probably Lord Hanuman wants to instill faith amongst
us about his presence,” he said.
